To support our development, we are seeking a Data Management Specialist to join our Configuration team in Ottawa on a full time basis. The Data Management Specialist will work under the supervision of the Data Management Lead and be a part of an intricate and large data environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the data system established is used effectively for access to and retrieval of project data;
  • Provide guidance to Project Administrator(s) in the tracking, recording, notifying and filing of incoming and outgoing physical and electronic correspondence;
  • Assign document control numbers to all deliverable documents;
  • Maintain DM filing systems;
  • Process requests for GFA and equipment from Thales and subcontractors and coordinate returns and disposal;
  • Identify, summarize and enter key information related to GFA and equipment, track related correspondence and maintain related filing systems;
  • Perform and participate in GFA and equipment audits;
  • Participate in identification of Software Configuration Items and tracking of software applications, releases and baselines;
  • Enter and maintain product baseline data in Configuration Management systems; and
  • Prepare configuration status and metrics.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 3 years of experience in data management;
  • Understanding of Configuration Management processes; and
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, CM tools and Report Generators.
