The student chosen for this position will be a member of an engineering team responsible for Designing and Implementing, as well as sustaining, RF and DC Test Racks in the Characterization Laboratory. The Co-Op will be responsible for developing and Integrating New RF Test Systems using LabView programing language as his/her primary tool. Also, the co-op will be improving current RF Test Systems Hardware, Software and Monitoring System Performance to guarantee Accuracy and Repeatability. The Co-Op will be an effective problem solver, proactive process owner and insightful test program developer.


  • Design and integrate software and hardware to achieve automated DC and RF test solutions
  • Design and develop complex LabVIEW applications
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams to support engineering test projects
  • Document test system and software designs
  • Supports design verification testing
  • Support existing Software (LabView, C#, C++, python)
  • Data Analysis


  • Currently enrolled in a MS degree program studying Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Must return to school following this Co-Op assignment (we will not consider students who are graduating before December 2018)
  • Able to commit to the 2018 Summer / Fall Co-Op program which runs from July 9, 2018 through December 2018
  • Knowledge of RF component testing
  • Strong knowledge and useage of LabView and idealy also Visual Basic (VBA)
  • Proficient with test equipment including RF sources, pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, power meters, power supplies, and digital multi-meters
  • Knowledgeable in RF Test. Testing includes s-parameters, noise figure, power, pulsed power, TOI, and harmonics
  • Knowledgeable in GPIB, IEEE 488.2, serial communications
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Green Belt or equivalent statistics understanding
  • Data Analysis Tool such as JMP, Minitab, Python or other.
