CENGN’s technology areas of focus are: Data Centre and Cloud Infrastructure, Internet of things (IoT), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and Software Defined Networks (SDN), among others. The organization is at the leading edge in the development and deployment of wired and wireless technologies that are utilized by applications such as cloud, wireless 5G, autonomous vehicles, broadband Internet and cybersecurity.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for the Centre of Excellence in Next Generation Networks (CENGN’s) Product Management team. Reporting to the VP of Program and Product Management, the candidate will be the external facing technical interface to the CENGN customer base, which includes CENGN Members, enterprises and service providers that consume CENGN services as well as Small Medium Enterprises whose products and services CENGN helps to commercialize. The Customer Solutions Engineer will be responsible for SME commercialization projects execution.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Due to the rapid evolution of the emerging network technologies for which CENGN is in the forefront, the Customer Solutions Engineer (CSE) is the bridge between CENGN’s services and their application in Small/ Medium Enterprise (SME) products. The CSE supports SMEs on how CENGN’s infrastructure can be leveraged to validate and scale their product/solution for commercialization purposes. The candidate will account for the following: 

  • Key interface between CENGN Engineering team and Business Development in order to formulate and provide technical support to the SME during commercialization projects
  • Serve as resource to SMEs in the areas of Mobile Network, Network Transport, Network Application, IoT, Security, NFV, SDN, Data Centre/Cloud
  • Define project scope based on SME’s application and system requirements
  • Develop project technical solution and communicate with SMEs
  • Support the Project Management team in the creation of documents clearly articulating project end to end solution architecture and requirements
  • Technical guidance and direction to junior staff and students for developing their expertise 

 

Key Competencies/Qualifications: 

Essential and Required

  • Ability to establish priorities and identify requirements at the onset
  • Experience working with customers building end to end solutions
  • Ability to follow industry trends and understand complex technical topics
  • Ability to effectively communicate to technical team, product management, business development, marketing and executives
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology
  • Proven experience with deployment of one or more of the following technologies: Mobile Network, Network Transport, IoT, Security, Cloud, NFV, SDN, Data Centre

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent program

Experience: 

  • 5 years of experience in a technology company working in an environment involving advanced networking
  • 5 years of Industry experience in Engineering or related discipline 

Languages: 

  • English oral, reading and writing
  • French oral, reading and writing would be considered an asset
