The candidate for this role is a motivated, extremely organized individual who uses their ability to look at information through different perspectives. They will review and simplify the account reconciliation processes balancing efficiency against full and proper documentation.

Work with management and operations to develop metrics and processes to drive superior capital allocation decisions as they relate to assigned accounts. Play a key role in the month end process from journal entries to in depth account analysis.

They will have strong mentoring skills to empower others on their team. With some knowledge of US and Canadian GAAP they provide suggestions to management to facilitate in simplifying and streamlining policies and procedures.

Their strong computer skills will enable them to learn our several ERP systems and reporting tools quickly and help them to build their own reports to accomplish their assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of the accounting cycle for a comprehensive set of balance sheet accounts including the preparation of monthly journal entries and preparation of account reconciliations.
  • Financial reporting and preparation of Management reporting packages
  • In-depth financial analysis/business trends analysis
  • Be a key contributor to the global consolidated balance sheet review process
  • Work closely with off-site accountants and business primes to investigate their requirements and be a conduit for the flow of information with Corporate.
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis for a variety of end-users

Education & Certification Requirements

  • Completion of a post secondary degree in Business Administration with preference being given to those candidates with a Professional Accounting
  • Designation or a Masters of Business Administration
  • 3+ years of progressive and diversified experience in a financial environment.
  • Solid accounting background with an understanding of GAAP
