POSITION TITLE: Systems Engineer – Model Based Systems Engineering

WORK LOCATION: OttawaON

Primary Objective and Main Responsibilities

Complete Systems Engineering (SE) tasks for requirements solicitation and analysis, basic and detailed design activities, systems integration, model based system engineering applications and interface definition. The scope of job includes the following:

  • Analyze, define and trace system requirements using a model based systems engineering approach;
  • Application of model based systems engineering tools such as Enterprise Architect, Melody Advance / Capella or equivalent;
  • Recommend and implement a model based systems engineering approach for projects;
  • Demonstrated use of DOORs for the management of requirements is required;
  • Model based Systems Engineering experience is desirable;
  • Assist with the planning and execution the design of electronic naval systems including:
  • Assist with specifying interface exchange requirements and develop interface control documents;
  • Assist with the planning and execution of a competitive procurement process;
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the verification and validation of electronic systems
  • Influence technical management areas including risk management approach, and risk mitigation strategies;
  • Support the definition and estimation of work packages;

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • The successful candidate will have, as a minimum, an Engineering Degree from an accredited Canadian University (or equivalent)
  • Must be able to demonstrate skills and relevant experiences to the responsibilities list above
  • P.Eng. (desirable)
  • 5+ years experience in electronic systems integration;
  • Coast Guard or Navy experience an asset.
  • Model based Systems Engineering experience an asset
