Status: Full Time/Six month Developmental Opportunity

 

Position Overview:

As a member of Manufacturing Engineering, you will contribute to the team’s success by supporting manufacturing operations, to ensure optimal assembly line performance and yield.  This will be achieved through a data driven approach and hands on reaction to line performance and yield excursions.  You will work closely with assembly operations, technicians, and engineers to:

  • Investigate process problems and perform real-time root cause analysis and correction.
  • Provide training and guidance to operations to promote best practices.
  • Design and implement process and equipment improvements to eliminate failure modes.
  • Create and execute validation protocols to qualify equipment changes.
  • Develop process documentation and reactions schemes. 

 

Required Education and Experience:

As the ideal candidate for our team, you will bring the following education, experiences, knowledge, and skills to the position:

  • A Technical Diploma or Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical or equivalent experience)
  • One to six years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment with high-speed automated machinery, including hands on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and mechanical aptitude for precise adjustment.
  • Proven technical, creative, teamwork and implementation skills to contribute to process reliability and product manufacturability/performance are required.
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office is required.
  • Familiarity with any of the following areas would be an asset:  automated assembly processes, equipment validation, six sigma, experimental design, statistical process control, root cause analysis (6M’s/ 5 Why’s), Solidworks, and data analysis techniques including the use of JMP.
