As North America's Grain Marketplace, FarmLead is changing the way that grain gets traded. Our web and mobile-based platform helps all farmers showcase the grain they want to sell to the broadest possible amount of buyers, helping them secure better prices and no longer depend on powerful middlemen or just 1 or 2 grain buyers around them. 


We’ve now helped farmers successfully negotiate millions of tonnes of grain, were named one of Canada’s top 15 startups in 2015 and most recently, one of Forbes most innovative companies in agriculture in 2017.

 

We seek a passionate Communications and Content expert, who's currently enrolled in a post secondary institution, to play an integral part in our small but fast-growing team and to ensure the consistency of strategic marketing delivery. Successful candidates will be considered for permanent hire, if applicable.

 

The ideal candidate must possess excellent written communication skills in order to write and edit high quality content. Significant experience in social media marketing and Microsoft excel are considered coveted assets. The ability to think critically and find solutions in order to generate measurable results is necessary.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and update of technical and commercial marketing material
  • Assist the content and management teams with competitive analysis and communications activities
  • Develop an online outreach strategy.This includes identifying the most appropriate blogs to promote our company and establishing relationships with key bloggers.
  • Post and interact on all social media platforms and track and report on social media statistics.
  • Participate in the development, execution and maintenance of a social media strategy
  • Conduct online research to identify web sites and online influencers for outreach
  • Research, download, and analyze key grain market data points

Skills:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Knowledge in excel and data analysis
  • Knowledge of marketing and marketing communications
  • Knowledge of analytics tools (Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Facebook Publishing)
