Test Engineering - Co-op, 4 months

The selected candidate(s) will work closely with a team of highly skilled Test Engineering professionals in a collaborative environment. High team participation and cooperation is essential. The Test Engineer co-op(s) will be responsible for assignments of varying scope and complexity in areas including supporting hardware and software development efforts.

Typical Duties

The responsibilities of the Test Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing web server code to interface to SQL database servers;
  • Developing tools to interface with Databases;
  • Contributing within both a product development team and a manufacturing environment;
  • Analyzing, interpreting and documenting results;
  • Work collaboratively with team members to resolve issues and progress tasks;
  • Participate in detailed design, implementation, integration and testing activities.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge and use of ClearCase and ClearQuest would be an asset;
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimum supervision;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Disciplined approach to software engineering;
  • Experience and knowledge in control software development using one or more of the following languages: HTML, C#, VB.net, VBA, SQL, JavaScript is an asset;
  • Enthusiastic contributor, willingness to learn new skills, and strong sense of ownership;


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent


  • Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security Clearance. Applicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.
