Engineering Management / Project Management Software

Job Description

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the effective and efficient administration of construction projects. You will coordinate the day-to-day activities from pre-design services through design development, construction, commissioning, and close-out, while ensuring Shopify needs are incorporated.

We thrive on change and use a non-traditional design-build approach, where we provide the necessary discipline design packages, as needed, while construction is underway. With our rapid growth in mind, this allows us to design and construct a space much faster, with the latest ideations, than traditional construction methodologies allow.

Requirements for the role:

  • Have at least 5-8 years of relevant project management experience
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Comfortable using technology (don’t expect a notebook and pen!)
  • Confident managing multiple stakeholders, consultants, contractors and projects
  • Ability to pivot quickly, to improve project outcomes and provide solutions
  • Proficient at reading and marking up drawings

Relevant experience for the role:

  • PMP Designation
  • ICI construction experience
  • CAD Drafting
  • Scheduling software

Projects you could work on:

  • Managing the new and existing interior fit-ups
  • Working with architecture/engineering teams to advise on constructibility
  • Working with designers to ensure drawing and material selections are provided to maintain the construction schedule
  • As the Owner’s representative, you will work with our consultants to ensure the project schedules are maintained, designs are followed, fit-ups are constructed to Shopify standards
  • You will be a bridge between Shopify stakeholders and our consultant teams for the construction projects
  • Managing budgets and construction documents

Experience comes in many forms, many skills are transferable, and passion goes a long way. If your experience is this close to what we’re looking for, consider applying. We know that diversity of thought makes for the best problem-solving and creative thinking, which is why we're dedicated to adding new perspectives to the team and encourage everyone to apply.
