Position Overview:

As a member of our New Product Introduction Engineering (NPI) team, you will play a key role in improving manufacturing process capability through the acquisition and integration of new software tools, equipment, process and product data to enable more effective, site-wide statistical process control.

Responsibilities:

You will have a wide range of responsibilities in your role as Senior Engineer, including, but not limited to:

  • Lead strategic business initiatives to drive product robustness and customer satisfaction using Six Sigma tools and structured problem solving.
  • Work with engineering and operations teams during implementation of new software, tools or technology components to ensure quality/yield/capability improvements and/or cost reduction objectives are realized.
  • Identify the impact of any relevant, internal or external regulations on the organization's use of information or systems and ensure all applicable quality processes are followed.
  • Work with NPI and product engineers to overcome technology hurdles and ensure data from new and existing process steps is acquired and integrated with all process and product data.
  • Work to facilitate the debugging and troubleshooting of software issues impacting production and new product introduction cadence.
  • Collaborate to ensure data integrity and facilitate data access in order to reduce time spent by engineers getting the specific data they require, enabling more engineers to easily access and spend more time analyzing data and using it to drive decisions.

Required Education and Experience

  • Strong analytical skills with a systematic approach to problem-solving, Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification preferred
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate complex processes, develop and propose risk-based options to resolve issues and implement solutions
  • Ability to clearly, concisely and accurately communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to identify new ideas, techniques and opportunities for improving effectiveness, performance and productivity
  • Strong organization, time and project management skills
  • Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes, GMP, LEAN, statistical methods for process control and quality control
  • Self-directed, proactive and not easily discouraged
  • User interface design, software documentation and validation experience
  • 6 or more years manufacturing software development and/or implementation experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent academic background/experience
  • Experience analyzing business processes and proactively identifying technology and/or compliance hurdles and areas of opportunity to apply software solutions that positively impact the business
  • Ability to work independently or direct a team or functional area.
  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment and identifying the impact of any relevant, internal or external regulations on the organization's use of information or technology components
  • Experience effectively managing projects across business units
  • Experience effectively managing relationships with vendors and service organizations
  • Understanding of good manufacturing practices and the importance of using SPC to control manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement
