Common Responsibilities * You will lead the discussion, on behalf of Cisco, help the customer solve their business problems. * You are responsible for the support and delivery of Advanced Services to Cisco accounts. * You have excellent customer relationships skills and will become a trusted advisor by developing solid, long term relationships with customers. * Be able to work with customer’s operations, engineering and architecture teams, and build relationship with key customer stakeholders. * Be able to meet customer on regular basis at the customer locations. * Providing consultative, proactive and/or reactive support. * Facilitate information gathering, design workshops, white boarding sessions. * Act as architectural lead, provide design assistance and performance engineering services as well as infrastructure design work for large scale networks. * Performs analysis of highly complex infrastructure designs. * Plan and supports highly complex network upgrade and migrations. * Help the customer maximize network infrastructure availability, the projects agility, and network infrastructure security. * Review and provide industry leading Cisco leading practices. * Audit existing network infrastructure, identify gaps and provide remediation recommendations. * Recommend network infrastructure software and hardware lifecycle management strategy, and detail software version recommendations. * Present key findings, recommendations, and improvement to customer technical teams, management and executives. * Provide expert support on a variety of Cisco Infrastructure products and solutions. * Review network implementation plan and change method of procedure, and provide recommendations; assist customer hardware and software qualification; support business day and after hours change windows. * Perform analysis and diagnosis of highly complex network problems, and escalation support. * Transfer knowledge of implemented Cisco Infrastructure products and solutions in hands on sessions, and by creating customer facing documentation. Minimum Qualifications * Responsible for delivering complex solutions, led customer engagements, or projects and delivered the expected outcome. * At least one CCIE certification; CCIE DC or RS strongly preferred with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. * Typically requires BS, CS, or University degree equivalent and 5+ years relevant experience in network infrastructure engineering or work experience equivalent. An advanced degree strongly preferred. * Communication skills to include conflict management, negotiation, presentation/demonstration, and written communication. * Excellent troubleshooting skills. * Document creation of technical documentation, for internal and external customer such as method of procedures, solution design, installation procedures, testing procedures, troubleshooting guides, etc. * ITILv3 foundation certification is an asset. * Canadian Government Clearance is an asset. Desired Skills The Cisco Consulting Engineers primary role is positioning, architecting and delivering service solutions around Cisco's Enterprise or Service Provider technologies and integrating them into the customer's overall data center architecture and design. The engineer will be expected to work on Enterprise, Commercial and Service Provider segments. This position will help drive sales, serve as data center subject matter expert, lead delivery efforts and mentor other technical consultants within the team. Since this is a high-profile position with interface to Cisco's premier customers, travel is expected and is estimated between 25% and 50% per year, but will vary depending on the projects being delivered. Travel will be primarily in Canada but travel to the USA is possible. Experience/Skills: The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise and expert knowledge of Cisco's Enterprise products and solutions.
