We welcome the opportunity to meet you! Job Summary: Our group is responsible for hardware development of wireless base station equipment. We are developing state of the art, multi-standard radio (RF) and digital hardware for cellular LTE, W-CDMA (UMTS), GSM and 5G applications. Our base station products are deployed by worldwide leading mobile operators. We are currently seeking to fill one radio design team/object lead position within our Radio Product Design and Integration team. The candidate will be responsible for enabling the delivery of our Radio portfolio by providing technical and process guidance. The candidate will ensure process is followed, manage interfaces (Factory, SW, HW teams, etc) and represent Radio design in project meetings. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a team and influencing project decision and direction. Responsibilities: Enforce Radio process & methodology. Technical lead of radio integration team. Represent Radio Design Responsible in a project. Interface with Industrialization and radio product test groups. Plan and report radio product integration deliverables. Manage radio product TRs, exemptions and change requests. Identify, track, and manage project & technical risks related to radio integration and production test. Work with project managers and sub-team leads to ensure all radio product design deliverables are prepared on-time. Ensure team is delivering to Radio process requirements including all subordinate requirements Represent Radio Integration team at project meetings. Interface with external groups like radio SW, platform integration, production test and node verification. Key Qualifications: BSc level in Electrical Engineering or related discipline Ten years of industry experience Preferred course specialization in: Wireless, RF/microwave, communication systems Team leadership experience Knowledge of RF hardware and system design Recent experience with RF product design and integration Solid understanding of applicable wireless technologies (e.g. GSM, UMTS, WCDMA, LTE) and industry standards (e.g. 3GPP) Proven experience with basic lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies Strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong team and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask across various disciplines and tasks Energy and drive to thrive in a dynamic product development environment Knowledge sharing and collaboration skills Excellent English skills, both written and spoken Why is Ericsson a great place to work? Job Summary: This position would be in Ottawa within PDU 4G5G - Product Integration and Release (PIR) organization which focuses on the development, integration and verification of the 4G/5G Ericsson portfolios. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about the protocols and features involved in LTE/IoT/5G wireless communications. This will be accomplished by working with the actual equipment, such as radio base stations (RBS), that are bought and used by Ericsson’s customers around the world. As a tester (verification) you would use our test systems to verify our Ericsson Radio Access Network. Tasks will include the following: Validate new LTE/5G features and traffic functionality before the software is released to end customers Analyze new features to produce a test plan for system verification Troubleshoot and help to resolve issues with the test environment Develop and maintain automated test cases Report on test results Key Qualifications: An academic background in science or engineering Knowledge and keen interest in wireless communication (4G/5G) Desire to work with new and emerging wireless technologies Excellent analytical and problem solving/troubleshooting skills Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure Effective English communication skills, both verbal and written Quick learner, organized, team player Willing to go the extra mile to dig into problems Programming and Scripting experience Why is Ericsson a great place to work? Job Summary NR is the next generation of broadband wireless technology. The LTE/NR base station Baseband software development team is seeking a software designer to join the Ericsson Base Station development group. Responsibilities This role requires an individual to design, implement and integrate functionalities for Ericsson’s base station products. It requires the employee to Develop software, implemente new functionalities in C/C++ code, in a multi-core target environment Apply knowledge of real-time software development and wireless communication protocols Work in a lab environment to trouble-shoot and integrate complex new pieces of software. Develop automated test cases to ensure existing functionality is never degraded by new software Perform software deliveries using a software version control system Document system analysis, software designs and test plans Follow an Agile product development process, working collaboratively in cross-functional teams Qualifications Strong skills in embedded real-time software development is mandatory. Strong C/C++ coding skills and experience with GIT are required. Basic understanding of the LTE/NR standard is required. Experience with software development for multi cores architecture is an asset. Strong troubleshooting skills, and willingness to spend time in a lab environment during integration.
