We are developing state of the art, multi-standard radio (RF) and digital hardware for cellular LTE, W-CDMA (UMTS), GSM and 5G applications. Our base station products are deployed by worldwide leading mobile operators. We are currently seeking to fill one radio design team/object lead position within our Radio Product Design and Integration team. The candidate will be responsible for enabling the delivery of our Radio portfolio by providing technical and process guidance. The candidate will ensure process is followed, manage interfaces (Factory, SW, HW teams, etc) and represent Radio design in project meetings. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a team and influencing project decision and direction. Responsibilities: Enforce Radio process & methodology. Technical lead of radio integration team. Represent Radio Design Responsible in a project. Interface with Industrialization and radio product test groups. Plan and report radio product integration deliverables. Manage radio product TRs, exemptions and change requests. Identify, track, and manage project & technical risks related to radio integration and production test. Work with project managers and sub-team leads to ensure all radio product design deliverables are prepared on-time. Ensure team is delivering to Radio process requirements including all subordinate requirements Represent Radio Integration team at project meetings. Interface with external groups like radio SW, platform integration, production test and node verification. Job Description Job Summary : At RAN System Management our main task is to specify the wanted behavior of radio network functions for 4G LTE and 5G. We also engage in 3GPP standardization, develop and use simulators to optimize signal processing algorithms, collect and analyze data from customer networks and perform troubleshooting. On our road towards 5G we are involved in such technical areas as: radio resource management, advanced antenna systems, massive MIMO, beamforming, scalable system architecture, machine learning, data analytics and many others In this role, you will develop system solutions that will improve the performance of our 4G and 5G RAN systems with a special focus on baseband (layer 1 and 2) performance and architecture. The successful candidate will work closely with the customer to propose performance improvements and with design teams that are prototyping and delivering your solutions live to the customer network. As well, you will work on the development of performance roadmap and the features in support of it. Work products include study items, technical reports, design estimates, requirements, problem resolution reports, pre-development items and test strategies. The ideal candidate would have a solid practical background working with 3GPP RAN features and functions and especially the baseband software that supports those functions. Job Responsibilities Perform systems studies in the early phases of product development for LTE & 5G with emphasis on L1 and L2 baseband architecture and performance. Work in an Agile manner with our customers to propose, prototype, deliver and measure performance improvements Secure perfromance characteristics through involvement in the SW product development and testing. The candidate will optimize the performance of our integrated radio product to meet specified 3GPP industry standards and internal system requirements. The candidate will also prepare test environments and methods for radio product integration based on relevant wireless standard and internal documents. JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in PDU Radio Ottawa, Ontario, in the Radio Algorithm Design & Implementation team. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be verification of FPGA and/or ASIC designs for new multi-standard radio base station products for 5G, LTE, W-CDMA, and GSM networks. The position may also involve modeling, RTL design, in-system lab bring up and testing, and other typical aspects of FPGA and/or ASIC development. The Ottawa team works very closely with other Radio development teams located in Sweden and China. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in FPGA/ASIC development, with a focus on verification using modern methodologies. RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS: Defining FPGA/ASIC verification strategies and specifications. Implementing verification environments and test suites, using modern verification techniques, e.g. SystemVerilog, SystemVerilog with UVM, and/or Assertion Based Verification. Measuring functional and code coverage, and driving closure to targets. Communicating and documenting results in verification reports. Collaborating with the Hardware and Software development teams, to understand requirements and drive optimal implementations with low defect rates. Contributing to the continuous improvement of products, simulation tools and processes. Supporting the deployment of new Radio products and features into customer networks. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Deep knowledge of SystemVerilog, UVM/OVM, and SVA. Familiarity with modern FPGA device families and tools. Experience with scripting languages and tools (TCL, Python, Perl, Make). Analytical mindset, high capacity, results oriented and the ability to deliver under pressure. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
